Aptly named, this pudao&#8217;s blade features nine rings along the spine (dull side) of the blade.<\/p>\n<p>These rings were added to pudao in the 19th and early 20th centuries primarily for wushu demonstrations, creating noise to distract or intimidate opponents and possibly to &#8220;catch&#8221; onto their weapon. Additionally, it is believed that the rings improve handling by offsetting the weapon&#8217;s center of gravity, allowing for better slashing and raising its lethality.<\/p>\n<p>Equipped with brass fittings, the full tang blade is mounted onto a handle with a core made from Hualee wood and comes with the free option of signature engraving. Despite already being a unique weapon, the stunning blade collar immediately draws one&#8217;s attention, not only because of its shape but also due to its intricate engravings.<\/p>\n<p>This pudao is available unsharpened or hand-sharpened.
