In many ways similar to Damascus steel, Sanmai steel is known for its durability and exceptional cutting prowess. It is a traditional Japanese technique that consists of an inner core with two additional jacket layers that is then forge welded together to unite the different properties in one blade. The blade of this sanmai katana is secured to the handle with one mekugi.<\/p>\n<p>This katana comes equipped with a maru gata (round) tsuba, fuchi, kashira, gold colored menuki, seppa, and habaki. The tsuka is first covered with white samegawa and wrapped with ito.
