The Tachi has a full tang blade, safely secured with two pegs, and has undergone further heat treatment. It’s been quenched and historically clay tempered, with the addition of a hazuya stone polish, resulting in an ideally hardened blade with a hamon and reflective shine.<\/p>\n
The handle, made from real rayskin, is covered with a synthetic tsuka-maki, providing a firm grip. The scabbard, constructed from durable hardwood, is lacquered for a shiny effect. The fittings, true to the Tachi design, are created from brass and feature a square handguard and a roped pommel.<\/p>\n
