The clay tempering and water quenching process gives it a sharp and keen edge with a hardness of 55HRC and the body at 40 HRC. This beautiful blade with a notare hamon is recommended for experienced cutting practitioners who seek a blade that holds up to regular and sustained use. <\/p>\n<p>This sword is quipped with high quality fittings such as the sumi iri kaku gata (notched square) tsuba along with silver habaki and menuki with flower motifs. Other koshirae include the copper fuchi and kashira. Securing the blade&#8217;s tang to the handle are two mekugi. <\/p>\n<p>For the wooden rikko tsuka, it is first covered with genuine white samegawa with the tight hinerimaki using black Japanese silk tsuka ito.
